What’s the role?

You’ll join Pacific Banking Technology as we modernise the technology supporting banking services across Fiji and Papua New Guinea. Your focus will be full stack engineering, with an emphasis on cloud, backend development and integration, designing secure solutions that connect core banking, digital, data, vendor and enterprise services.

You’ll contribute across the solution lifecycle, from design and build through to release, support and continuous improvement. This includes building APIs, microservices and event-based integrations, supporting cloud and container platforms, automating delivery processes and resolving complex technical issues.

You’ll also review engineering work and vendor designs, contribute to technical decisions and help ensure solutions meet our security, reliability, performance and compliance requirements. Your full stack experience will enable you to understand and assess solutions end to end, rather than focus on building customer facing interfaces.

This is a permanent, full time hybrid role based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country.

What do I need?

• Full stack engineering capability using Java or .NET, with an understanding of applications, integration, data, infrastructure, security and operations.

• Experience designing and implementing APIs, microservices, event based solutions and enterprise integrations.

• Hands on experience with AWS or Azure and container platforms such as Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.

• Strong database experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including SQL, performance tuning, configuration and troubleshooting.

• DevSecOps capability across continuous integration, continuous delivery, automated testing, security scanning and deployment practices.

• Strong solution design and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical decisions and support other engineers

• Banking domain experience is highly regarded and will be considered a strong advantage
