THE ROLE

Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, coordinating and support delivery of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), airside and landside electrical power, lighting, control and monitoring systems for airport projects. The role covers system studies, design documentation, authority and stakeholder coordination, procurement support, site services, testing and commissioning, with emphasis on operational safety, resilience, energy efficiency and continuity of airport operations.

Key Responsibilities

- AGL Planning & Design: Design complete runway, taxiway, and approach lighting systems (including PAPI, signs, and obstacle lights). Develop circuit architectures, CCR sizing, cable loops, and vault layouts.

- Power & Utility Integration: Design MV/LV distribution networks, substations, standby generators, UPS, and apron floodlighting. Coordinate power for PCA, GPU, VDGS, and boarding bridges.

- Engineering Analytics: Run critical photometric, load, voltage-drop, and short-circuit studies. Design robust AGL Control and Monitoring Systems (ALCMS) featuring advanced cybersecurity and redundancy.

- BIM & Digital Coordination: Drive 3D electrical modeling, participate in federated model reviews, and resolve clashes within a Common Data Environment (CDE).

- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to ICAO, FAA, and IEC standards . Develop seamless construction phasing and cut-over plans to maintain 24/7 live airfield operations.

- Procurement & Delivery: Prepare tender packages, evaluate technical bids, review contractor shop drawings, and lead site testing/commissioning (FAT/SAT).

- Next-Gen Engineering: Leverage approved AI-assisted automation tools for advanced option studies and data verification while maintaining ultimate professional accountability.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution.

- Minimum eight years of relevant electrical design experience, including at least three years on airport AGL projects.

- Demonstrable experience in AGL systems, series circuits, CCRs, ALCMS, airside substations and airport power-distribution interfaces.

- Practical knowledge of project-adopted ICAO Annex 14 and relevant Aerodrome Design Manual provisions, FAA AC 150/5340 and 150/5345 series, IEC 61820 series and applicable local regulations.

- Proficiency in electrical and lighting design software such as ETAP, DIALux, AGi32 or equivalent, plus advanced AutoCAD capability.

- Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 and multidisciplinary BIM coordination is advantageous.

- Experience with technical procurement, vendor reviews, site inspection, testing and commissioning is highly desirable.
