About this role

Implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs across manufacturing and utility areas.

Conduct risk assessments, JSA/JHA, HIRA, and recommend appropriate control measures.

Monitor safe handling, storage, and transfer of hazardous chemicals, solvents, gases, and pharmaceutical intermediates.

Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and compliance assessments.

Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and prepare corrective/preventive actions.

Coordinate fire safety, emergency preparedness, mock drills, and disaster-management activities.

Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and other safety equipment.

Monitor occupational health requirements, including medical surveillance and workplace exposure controls.

Support permit-to-work systems such as hot work, confined space, work at height, excavation, and electrical work.

Monitor environmental aspects including ETP/STP, hazardous waste, solvent waste, emissions, and wastewater management.

Maintain statutory EHS records, registers, reports, and compliance documentation.

Conduct EHS training, toolbox talks, induction programs, and awareness campaigns.

Coordinate with production, engineering, QA, warehouse, utilities, and contractors on EHS matters.

Track incidents, observations, CAPA, audit findings, and action closure.

Support regulatory inspections and implementation of applicable requirements.

Required Qualifications
Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant EHS/Safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is an advantage.

Experience in API/pharmaceutical, chemical, or specialty-chemical manufacturing preferred.

Good knowledge of chemical safety, fire safety, industrial safety, environmental management, and emergency response.

Familiarity with applicable Indian EHS legislation and statutory compliance.
