Head of Facilities Maintenance and Construction

Description

As part of our continuous growth and significant industrial expansion, we are looking for a Head of Facilities Maintenance and Construction to lead building infrastructure projects, facility upgrades, renovations and maintenance operations across our manufacturing sites. This position is ideal for engineering professionals with experience in construction projects, industrial developments, technical site management or large-scale building operations.

The role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with strong site supervision experience, able to coordinate internal teams, contractors and external partners, ensure safe and compliant project execution, and drive practical solutions in a dynamic industrial environment.

Responsibilities

- Lead Facilities & Building Maintenance, focusing on on-site coordination, technical execution and day-to-day supervision across company facilities.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures covering preventive, corrective, predictive, and improvement maintenance activities.
- Plan, prioritize and closely follow up maintenance operations, technical interventions, civil works and facility improvement projects on site.
- Supervise renovation, expansion, construction and upgrade works, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, timelines, budget, quality and safety standards.
- Manage facility-related capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource optimization.
- Conduct site inspections, identify issues, propose solutions and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and external partners.
- Prepare, review and validate technical reports, specifications, scopes of work and documentation related to maintenance activities and building projects.
- Coordinate procurement requests, evaluate technical offers and support vendor selection in cooperation with the Procurement Department.
- Supervise contractors and service providers on site, ensuring progress, quality, cost control, safety compliance and timely issue resolution.
- Monitor schedules, escalate delays or risks, and ensure works are completed with minimal disruption to operations.
- Act as the main point of contact for internal departments regarding building maintenance needs, technical requests and facility-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment procedures, internal policies, regulatory requirements and applicable quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to facility reliability, operational efficiency, cost control and service quality.
- Manage, guide and develop the Facilities & Building Maintenance team, fostering accountability, collaboration and a hands-on problem-solving mindset.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical or Civil.
- 7+ years of experience in facilities management, construction, technical project management, industrial infrastructure or maintenance.
- Proven hands-on site supervision experience, including contractors, progress monitoring, technical specifications, timelines and HSE requirements.
- Ability to read and review technical drawings, layouts and specifications; AutoCAD is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance practices, technical documentation and facility improvement processes.
- Very good MS Office skills; maintenance systems or technical reporting tools are an asset.
- Very good command of English.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, site-oriented mindset.
