As an Associate Perfume Analyst, based in Baierbrunn (Germany) you will provide analytical support to creation, development, and S&T units. The role contributes directly to the company’s business objectives and corporate strategy through high-quality analytical insights, technical support, and continuous improvement in methodology.

You will also be involved in the analytical laboratory activities (GC/MS instrument maintenance, safety procedures, SOPs, supplies order).

Please note that this is a 1-year temporary contract from January 2027.

In this position you will:

- Independently plan, prioritize, and execute perfume analysis projects to meet business and creative team requirements while ensuring high efficiency and accuracy in data generation, interpretation, and reporting.

- Adapt and optimize analytical approaches or protocols to meet specific business needs in terms of response time, level of analysis, and results precision.

- Collaborate with internal teams to provide analytical recommendations supporting project objectives.

- Conduct daily instrument performance checks, calibration, and routine maintenance to ensure reliability and accuracy.

- Troubleshoot and coordinate with relevant support teams for repairs and technical issues.

- Demonstrate a strong understanding of fragrance raw materials, including both natural ingredients (essential oils, extracts, absolutes, isolates) & synthetic raw materials. Apply fragrance ingredient knowledge to reformulation, ingredient recognition, and analytical interpretation.

- Stay alert to potential improvements in analytical methodologies and highlight opportunities to develop or implement new approaches.

- Interact with analytical network to stay up to date with standard protocols.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with EHS guidelines.

- Promptly report any unsafe conditions or behaviors within the laboratory.

Your professional profile includes:

- Minimum of 3 years work experience in Perfume Analysis laboratory in a Fragrance Company using the GC-MS-FID technique

- Experience in using chemometric tools for data interpretation for perfume formulation including Perfumery Raw Materials composition knowledge
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline

- Demonstrate proficiency in using common IT applications

- Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language

- Additional proficiency in German is a plus

- Knowledge of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices)

- A flexible team player with ability to evolve in a business reactive context, adapting to customer needs

You will be paid according to one of the best-paid collective agreement in Germany as part of the chemical industry (plus holiday allowance, Christmas allowance and bonus), have 30 (+5) days holiday per calendar year and an employer-financed company pension scheme.
