The role will lead day-to-day delivery for the team responsible for Shopify and Direct-to-Consumer digital commerce delivery within GCH. The role will manage an offshore delivery squad based in Bangalore, ensuring work is planned, prioritised, estimated, assigned, tracked, documented and delivered in line with business priorities and agreed architecture direction.

The individual will combine strong people leadership, agile delivery management, scrum master capability and digital commerce delivery experience. They will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, the UK-based Digital Architect, engineering teams and other technology stakeholders to create a predictable, transparent and high-performing delivery model.

What you’ll be doing:

Team Management & Leadership

- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Bangalore-based digital commerce delivery team.
- Provide line management for team members, including objective setting, performance reviews, regular 1:1s, coaching, development planning and career support.
- Ensure team members understand priorities, roles, responsibilities, delivery expectations and quality standards.
- Allocate work effectively across the squad based on skills, availability, capacity and sprint priorities.
- Build a collaborative, accountable and delivery-focused team culture across offshore and onshore teams.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership

- Act as squad lead and scrum master for the Shopify / DTC delivery squad.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Help establish and continuously improve agile delivery processes, scrum routines and team working agreements.
- Ensure sprint goals are clear, realistic and aligned to business and technology priorities.
- Track delivery progress, manage risks and blockers, and escalate dependencies in a timely manner.
- Use sprint metrics such as velocity, capacity, burndown and defect trends to improve delivery predictability.

Backlog Management, Story Readiness & Estimation

- Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and business stakeholders to shape, refine and prioritise the delivery backlog.
- Ensure user stories are ready for sprint planning, with clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions and non-functional requirements where relevant.
- Support the team in estimating user stories using story points or agreed agile estimation techniques.
- Ensure the right user stories are assigned to the right team members with appropriate point estimates and delivery expectations.
- Balance business priority, technical complexity, squad capacity and architectural guidance when planning sprint commitments.
- Partner with the UK-based Digital Architect to ensure backlog items align with agreed solution architecture and technical standards.

Onshore / Offshore Delivery Model

- Establish effective ways of working between the Bangalore delivery team and UK-based stakeholders.
- Define clear processes for handovers, clarifications, escalations, documentation, decision-making and delivery governance.
- Ensure offshore delivery is well coordinated with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams and third-party partners where applicable.
- Maintain clear communication rhythms across time zones to reduce ambiguity and improve delivery throughput.
- Identify opportunities to improve operating model efficiency, quality, transparency and stakeholder confidence.

JIRA, Documentation & Delivery Governance

- Own and maintain the agile delivery setup in JIRA or equivalent tools.
- Ensure epics, features, stories, tasks, bugs, dependencies, acceptance criteria and sprint boards are structured and kept up to date.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports and delivery views to provide visibility of sprint progress, blockers, risks and team capacity.
- Ensure Confluence or equivalent documentation is maintained for delivery processes, decisions, release notes, handovers and operating procedures.
- Promote consistent documentation standards across the squad and ensure delivery governance is followed.
- Support release planning, QA coordination, production readiness and operational handover activities.

Stakeholder Management

- Act as the key delivery interface between the Bangalore squad and UK / business stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, the UK-based Digital Architect, engineering teams, QA teams, third-party vendors and the Head of Digital Solutions & Integration.
- Provide clear, regular communication on sprint progress, risks, blockers, capacity, dependencies and delivery status.
- Translate business priorities into structured delivery plans and actionable sprint commitments.
- Escalate delivery risks, resourcing constraints, decision gaps and dependency issues in a timely and constructive manner.

What you’ll bring:

- 12+ years of experience in project management, delivery management, scrum master or agile delivery roles.
- Proven experience managing technology delivery teams, ideally across digital commerce, ecommerce, Shopify, DTC or retail environments.
- Strong practical experience working in agile delivery models and facilitating scrum ceremonies.
- Experience with backlog refinement, sprint planning, story-point estimation, prioritisation and delivery tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence or equivalent agile delivery and documentation tools.
- Experience establishing or improving onshore / offshore delivery processes.
- Previous line management experience, including performance management, coaching and team development.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business, product and technology teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, remove delivery blockers and drive delivery discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience

- Experience supporting Shopify, DTC, ecommerce or digital commerce platform delivery.
- Experience working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and engineering teams in a distributed delivery model.
- Scrum Master certification, Agile certification, PMP, SAFe or equivalent delivery qualification.
- Exposure to release management, QA coordination, incident management or production support processes.
- Understanding of integrations, APIs, customer journeys and commerce platform delivery.
- Retail, consumer goods, fashion, footwear or brand-led ecommerce experience.
