About this role
We’re Pentland Brands: a global family business behind some of the world’s most iconic active and lifestyle brands. We bring integrity, energy and ambition to our work, setting high standards and striving to deliver great outcomes without ego.

Shape the work behind some of the world’s most loved sport, outdoor and lifestyle brands.
---
At Pentland Brands, every role helps move our brands forward. Whether you’re supporting our people, improving our systems, growing our commercial performance, strengthening operations or shaping better ways of working, your impact reaches across a portfolio of iconic brands used by consumers around the world.
As our Product Compliance Manager, you’ll play a key role in making sure our products are safe, compliant and ready for market across the UK, EU and our international markets outside the Americas.
Working closely with our brands, sourcing teams, suppliers and Legal, you’ll turn regulatory requirements into practical action across the product lifecycle. Reporting to the Head of Product Compliance & Stewardship, you’ll be the hands-on compliance expert ensuring our standards are consistently delivered and that we’re ready for both existing and emerging regulation.
---
What you’ll be doing:
- Own product compliance requirements across the UK, EU and other non-Americas markets, covering market access, product safety, chemicals, labelling and testing.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical actions for brand, product, sourcing and supplier teams.
- Lead the delivery of ESPR and Digital Product Passport requirements across your markets, ensuring the business is ready for emerging regulation.
- Apply chemical compliance requirements including REACH, PFAS, POPs and Restricted Substances Lists to product development, testing and supplier decisions.
- Manage product testing and compliance protocols, ensuring products meet applicable regulatory and market requirements.
- Lead the operational response to product recalls, coordinating activity across Legal, brand and relevant business teams.
- Manage regulator engagement relating to product compliance issues and recalls, ensuring actions are properly documented and closed out.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve compliance issues before they become barriers to market.
- Monitor compliance readiness and emerging risks, providing clear information to support senior-level regulatory reporting and decision-making.
- Help strengthen and continuously improve product compliance processes, controls and ways of working across the business.
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in product compliance, product safety or regulatory affairs, ideally within apparel, footwear, sporting goods or another consumer products environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK and EU product regulation, including REACH, chemical restrictions, product labelling and market-specific information requirements.
- Practical experience applying regulatory requirements to real products, suppliers and testing programmes.
- Knowledge or experience of ESPR, Digital Product Passports or comparable emerging product regulation, with the ability to quickly build expertise as requirements evolve.
- Experience managing product safety or compliance incidents, including recalls and regulator engagement.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to work directly with brand teams, sourcing teams and suppliers to resolve complex compliance issues.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and audit trails.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to make complex regulatory requirements clear and actionable.
