Investor Relations is part of the Finance Department and serves as the bridge between BBVA and the financial markets. The team develops and communicates BBVA’s Equity Story, ensuring that the Group’s strategy, financial performance and value proposition are conveyed to investors and analysts in a clear, rigorous and consistent way. The team also brings external market perspectives into the organisation, providing senior management with insights into investor expectations, market perceptions and emerging trends.

About the role

Based in Madrid, you will join the Investor Relations – Equity Story team , contributing to BBVA’s financial communication and to the development of more data-driven, automated and technology-enabled ways of working.

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for people with a strong technical and quantitative foundation and a genuine interest in finance, banking and financial markets. Applications from recent graduates and candidates with internships or up to approximately three years of relevant experience are welcome.

The role combines financial analysis and communication with data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence. A solid technical foundation is therefore essential: candidates should be comfortable working with data and have practical knowledge of Python and SQL. We are particularly interested in profiles that can connect analytical thinking with the ability to understand complex business information and communicate it clearly.

Profile we are looking for

• Academic background meeting one of the two pathways described above: a technical/quantitative university degree, or a business-related degree complemented by a postgraduate master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics or a comparable technical field.

• Practical knowledge of Python and SQL, with the ability to use them for data analysis, information processing or automation.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and confidence working with structured data.

• Strong interest in finance, banking, listed companies and financial markets.

• Ability to understand complex information and communicate key conclusions clearly and concisely.

• Professional working proficiency in English (minimum B2 level required) and Spanish.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of BBVA Group’s Equity Story and help ensure consistency in the messages communicated to investors and analysts.

• Coordinate with other areas of the Group to obtain, analyse and understand the financial and business information required by Investor Relations.

• Translate complex financial, business and market information into clear, rigorous and accessible messages.

• Analyse financial and market data to identify relevant trends, insights and information for the Investor Relations team.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of Investor Relations processes using data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence tools.

• Develop dashboards, analytical tools and visualisations that facilitate access to and interpretation of financial and market information.

• Explore and apply AI tools for research, information retrieval, synthesis, analysis and workflow automation.

• Help strengthen the use of data, analytics, automation and AI across the Investor Relations function.

Additional qualifications valued

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with financial-market information platforms such as Bloomberg or FactSet.

• Experience with data-visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

• Exposure to automation, generative AI or analytical workflows applied to financial or business information.

• Understanding of financial statements, valuation concepts or capital markets.
