About the Position:

We are seeking motivated candidates for the position of Municipal Training & Support Specialist in Registration, Municipal, and Agent Services. As a Municipal Training & Support Specialist, you will work in training and monitoring the performance of municipal agents in the registration of motor vehicles. Work includes training town representatives to act as agents of the Secretary of State, conducting workshops and refresher training programs, writing procedure manuals, and conducting on site - reviews and taking appropriate corrective action. Work is performed under limited supervision.

In this role, you will:

- Instruct, guide, and advise municipal officials on laws, rules, regulations, and procedures relating to motor vehicle registrations to ensure agent performance meets established standards.
- Conducts workshops and refresher training programs statewide to train agents and maintain proficiency in registration procedures.
- Performs on-site visits to verify correct procedures, provide guidance, and assist with complex or unusual registration problems.
- Responds to inquiries from municipal officials and the public regarding registration and excise tax procedures.
- Prepares and distributes memos, newsletters, and updated guidelines to inform agents of changes in laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Speaks at workshops, seminars, and conventions to provide information and enhance public service.
- Conducts on-site reviews to evaluate agent performance, take corrective action, and recommend decertification when necessary.
- Evaluates procedures, identifies program challenges, and recommends new or revised processes to improve program efficiency and operations.
- Prepares forms and reports to keep administrators informed of program activities and effectiveness.

Preference will be given to candidates who bring digital fluency and a process-improvement mindset:

Comfort learning and adopting new technologies, experience streamlining or digitizing paper-based work, clear written communication, curiosity about emerging workplace tools, and the judgment to evaluate and verify their output before relying on it.

- Knowledge of motor vehicle registration procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable motor vehicle laws, rules, regulations.
- Ability to prepare and deliver training programs.
- Ability to evaluate compliance with fiscal and procedural reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PowerPoint and Adobe abilities.
- Experience in developing training or presentations.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications:

A five (5) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in the application of motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations and in the conduct of training.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions, and successful candidates will be required to complete an I-9 form upon hire.

The successful candidate must pass a National Criminal Background check, which may include fingerprinting.
