At Northwest Hardwoods (NWH) , you’ll play an important role in keeping our global supply chain moving. This role focuses on translating incoming customer orders into efficient schedules, processing, order staging, and distribution. As a Production Scheduler , you’ll work closely with the lumber yard team to keep daily operations running smoothly, and coordinate workflow. You’ll help guide team members, maintain a safe and productive work environment, and keep operations on track to meet daily goals and customer needs.

This position is all about teamwork, safety, and attention to detail. As a Production Scheduler, you will play a pivotal role in driving the operational efficiency of our products and distribution. In this role, you will analyze real-time inventory to build, maintain, and balance daily production schedules for our processing and lines. You will serve as the primary communication hub keeping daily lumber yard operations and the team on track, maintain quality standards, and promote a safe and productive work environment will help ensure we continue delivering high-quality lumber to our customers around the world.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

- Receive and review incoming sales orders from the logistics team.
- Track each job's lifecycle from initial entry through processing, staging, and final shipment confirmation.
- Re-sequence schedules dynamically to accommodate rush orders, machine downtime, or changing delivery deadlines.
- Monitor raw material stock levels (dimensional lumber, sheets, and specialty wood species) to ensure sufficient supply before scheduling production runs.
- Assist with routine inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to maintain an accurate database.
- Update the yard's ERP system in real-time to reflect completed work.
- Deliver daily production schedules and job specifications directly to the floor team.
- Provide clear, explicit instructions on job sequencing, ensuring the floor crew knows exactly which order to run next and why.
- Work on production floor as needed - approximately 10% of time

What You Bring:

We’re looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, safety-minded, and has strong collaboration and communication skills. Someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes initiative, and can effectively guide a team while keeping lumber yard operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

Required:

- Must be 18 years of age
- Basic Excel knowledge (data input)
- Tech Savvy - Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Available to work Monday – Friday 7am - 3:30pm
- Schedule flexibility to work over time and up to 10 hour days as needed
- Lumber Yard/Sawmill experience
- Experience with Lumber Track preferred, not required
