At Northwest Hardwoods (NWH) , as an Inside Sales Representative , you’ll play an important role in assisting in accelerating growth within an assigned territory by identifying expanding market share, and strengthening relationships with existing customers. You will leverage NWH's extensive hardwood product portfolio to deliver value-driven solutions that help customers achieve their business objectives.

Why This Role Matters:
As an Inside Sales Representative , you will maximize all opportunities to capture the market share and grow high-volume, long-term supply contracts. By collaborating with our outdoors Account Managers and clients, you will continue to grow and build upon the deep, reliable trust required to turn first-time buyers into lifelong partners. This consistent presence ensures NWH is the absolute first choice, driving immediate territory growth while aiding in securing steady, recurring revenue for years to come.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities naturally, adding value to customer orders through complementary products.
- Proactively follow up on pending quotes, revive dormant contractor accounts, and convert inbound inquiries into sales.
- Partner closely with Outside Account managers to coordinate large contractor orders and assist in hitting team revenue targets.
- Apply knowledge of lumber and millwork to help customers select items that best fit their project needs.
- Professionally troubleshoot order processing issues, answer pricing/availability questions, and resolve customer concerns or complaints.
- Expand existing customer relationships by identifying opportunities for increased market share, cross-selling, and strategic account development
- Generate accurate sales quotations and project estimates via phone, email, and online requests.
- Accurately process customer transactions and complete orders into the ERP system.
- Assist and coordinate delivery schedules, communicating delivery dates and ticket-flow statuses clearly with operations, yard personnel, and customers.
- Assist with stock monitoring, reporting inventory discrepancies, and resolving stock shortages.
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure a best-in-class customer experience from quote through delivery
- Represent NWH with professionalism and integrity while exemplifying the company's commitment to Safety, People, Quality, Stewardship, and Innovation
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business needs and recommending tailored hardwood lumber solutions

Required:
- High school diploma
- Clear desire for professional advancement - view this role as critical training ground for the field

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Hardwood lumber or building products experience (plus, not required)
Preferred:
- 4–5 years of successful sales experience, preferably within the hardwood lumber, building products, industrial distribution, or related industries
- Demonstrated ability to grow existing accounts, and achieve aggressive sales goals
- Proven success building strong customer relationships and influencing purchasing decisions
- Hardwood lumber or building products experience (plus, not required)
