Our Clean-Up Technician plays a critical role in keeping our sawmill and manufacturing operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. At Northwest Hardwoods (NWH), you’ll play an important role in keeping our equipment, vehicles, and operations running safely and efficiently. As an experienced Clean-Up Technician , you’ll be responsible for keeping our yard safe and clean to ensuring our trucks and equipment are clean and ready to go. You’ll work closely with the manufacturing and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and help maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

- Sweep, rake, and clear lumber yard driveways, walkways, and drive-thru aisles to ensure a tidy and obstacle-free environment.
- Collect, sort, and properly dispose of wood scraps, sawdust, metal banding, plastic wrap, and other construction debris within the shop, building, sawmill and/or yard.
- Empty yard trash receptacles and transport industrial waste to designated dumpsters or recycling areas.
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including clearing snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and parking areas.
- Occasionally assist with re-stacking, bundle, and organizing lumber to maintain neatness.
- Maintenance and mowing of grass area
- Maintaining trucks and equipment clean - wiping down and power washing
- Adhere strictly to OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations to maintain a safe, accident-free work environment.
- Report any hazardous conditions, blocked emergency exits, or faulty equipment immediately to the facilities manager.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure a clean and efficient workplace.
- Other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

We’re looking for someone who is detail oriented, hard working, dependable, safety-minded, and enjoys working with their hands. You should take pride in your work, be comfortable walking around the warehouse and being physically active.

Required:

- Able to work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs regularly and unassisted.
- Endure prolonged physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling for 8+ hour shifts.
- Demonstrate agility and balance when navigating active industrial yard environments around heavy machinery and moving vehicles.
- Dependable to manage daily cleaning schedules independently.
- A strict commitment to personal and workplace safety protocols.
- Familiarity with standard yard tools, such as industrial brooms, rakes, strapping tools, and banding equipment.
- Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.

Preferred:

- Previous experience in lumber manufacturing, lumber material handling is a plus, but not required
