Job Title: Entry Level Financial Analyst Job Description The Entry Level Analyst role sits within a Securities Administration Services group and focuses on processing complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments. You perform detailed data entry, accounting, and analysis of pooled loan data from multiple mortgage servicers, ensuring that variances are identified, researched, and resolved. You work extensively with collateral, securities, default, and trust administration, interpreting controlling legal documents when issues arise with collateral or bond payments. This position offers significant growth opportunities within the organization and provides remote flexibility with periodic on-site collaboration. Responsibilities
- Process the most complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide remittance and correction information to servicers in a timely and clear manner to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Monitor and analyze pooled loans to identify non-compliance, and clearly communicate findings and relevant information to investors.
- Evaluate servicer performance to ensure adherence to stated agreements and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Participate in system enhancements by attending user groups and conducting testing to validate new functionality and changes.
- Identify, document, and communicate processing exceptions that may affect similar series across individual portfolios to support consistent resolution.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of collateral, securities, default, and trust administration to effectively handle complex issues.
- Perform data entry, accounting, and detailed analyses of pooled loan data from multiple mortgage servicers using various database systems and Excel.
- Use multiple database systems and Microsoft Excel to reconcile data, identify variances, and ensure all discrepancies are investigated and accounted for.
- Research and interpret controlling legal documents, including those related to collateral and bond payments, to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate closely within a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment to complete analyses by specific monthly cutoff dates, including working overtime when needed.
- Train junior-level staff on processes and systems as needed, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills.
- Review junior staff processing and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Propose recommendations for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of automated solutions on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions used for data analysis and reconciliation.
- Strong business analysis and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends, variances, and issues.
- Solid understanding of finance, accounting, or related disciplines, particularly as they relate to pooled loans, securities, and trust administration.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry and accounting tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Capability to research and interpret controlling legal documents, especially those governing collateral and bond payments.
- Effective communication skills to convey findings, remittance corrections, and compliance issues to servicers, investors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage workload to meet monthly analysis and reporting timelines.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in financial services, which may include internship experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Math, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience working with pooled loan data, mortgage servicers, or securities administration is beneficial.
- Comfort using multiple database systems and technology tools to manage and analyze large data sets.
- Strong quantitative and math skills to support complex financial and statistical analysis.
- Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and contribute to group problem-solving.
- Interest in process improvement and automation, with a willingness to propose and support new solutions.
- Motivation to grow within the organization and take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
