Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity for a Total Rewards Manager at our United States headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The Total Rewards Manager is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for the day-to-day design, analysis, and administration of the company’s total rewards programs, including compensation, health and welfare benefits, leave management, workers’ compensation, and pension plan administration.
This role serves as the subject matter expert for compensation methodology, job leveling, pay bands, market pricing, benefits administration, annual open enrollment, leave administration, and workers’ compensation. The Total Rewards Manager will conduct the research, modeling, analysis, and vendor coordination needed to support competitive, equitable, cost-effective, and compliant total rewards programs across multiple legal entities
This position works closely with the Executive HR Director, Finance, HR team members, and external brokers, consultants, carriers, and vendors. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise with HRIS and compensation technology, along with advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills.
This is a full-time, fully onsite position located at our headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia . Typical working hours are Monday through Friday , with flexibility to support business needs as required.
Targeted Compensation: The targeted base salary for this position is $120,000–$130,000 annually, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain compensation structures, including salary grades, pay bands, and job leveling frameworks, ensuring consistent and defensible pay differentiation across roles.
- Administer annual compensation planning cycles, including merit increases, annual bonus and incentive programs, promotional adjustments, and market-driven pay range updates.
- Conduct hands-on market pricing, salary benchmarking, and competitive pay analysis using Payscale, CompAnalyst, compensation surveys, and other market data.
- Evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and career progression when leveling positions and employees into appropriate pay ranges.
- Administer health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary or voluntary benefits.
- Own the annual open enrollment process from start to finish, including employee communications and meetings, vendor coordination, and programming plan, rate, and eligibility changes within ADP Workforce Now.
- Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA/reasonable accommodation, state and local leave, and short- and long-term disability.
- Administer workers’ compensation programs, including claims coordination, return-to-work and light-duty programs, incident tracking, and OSHA recordkeeping support.
- Research and evaluate opportunities to harmonize compensation and benefit programs across multiple legal entities, including newly acquired organizations.
- Serve as the hands-on subject matter expert for the Pfeiffer Vacuum Pension Plan, including plan administration, compliance, actuarial coordination, government filings, and participant communications.
- Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation, benefits, leave, workers’ compensation, pension administration, pay transparency, and pay equity.
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now and SAP SuccessFactors to manage total rewards data, reporting, analytics, system programming, workflows, and data integrity.
- Build and maintain advanced Excel models to support compensation budgeting, benefits cost analysis, forecasting, and executive-level reporting.
- Partner with Finance on annual compensation, benefits, and workers’ compensation budgeting, forecasting, and cost-trend analysis.
- Coordinate with brokers, consultants, actuaries, carriers, and other third-party vendors and support RFP and contract negotiation processes.
- Support total rewards due diligence, integration planning, and harmonization efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes.
- Develop employee and manager communications related to compensation, benefits, leave, and other total rewards programs.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry trends and recommend changes needed to maintain compliance and market competitiveness.
- Prepare and present total rewards analysis and recommendations to the Executive HR Director.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition by providing market pricing, pay range, and internal equity analysis to support recruitment, offer decisions, and pay transparency requirements.

Required Experience
- High School Diploma or GED: Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field: Preferred
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive, hands-on experience in compensation and benefits administration: Required
- Hands-on experience establishing compensation structures, pay bands/grades, job leveling frameworks, and competitive pay ranges: Required
- Hands-on experience administering health and welfare benefits programs, including full ownership of annual open enrollment: Required
- Hands-on experience administering leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, state leave, and disability: Required
- Hands-on experience administering workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs: Required
- Experience administering a corporate pension plan, including compliance, actuarial coordination, and government filings: Preferred
- Experience harmonizing or integrating benefits programs across multiple entities, acquisitions, or corporate structures: Preferred
- Manufacturing, industrial, or multi-entity/global corporate experience: Preferred
- Advanced/expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups, and financial/cost modeling: Required
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now: Required
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors: Preferred
- Experience with Payscale and CompAnalyst, or equivalent market-pricing and salary benchmarking tools: Required
- Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation requirements, and multi-state pay transparency/pay equity regulations: Required

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately 5–10% to support entity locations, integration activities, and vendor/broker meetings
- Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards

Work Environment
Professional office environment located within our United States headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a fully onsite position requiring regular collaboration with HR, Finance, leadership, and other internal stakeholders. The role may periodically require presence in manufacturing or warehouse areas when supporting benefits events, enrollment meetings, or other total rewards activities. Standard safety and PPE requirements apply when entering operational areas. Occasional domestic travel is required to support multi-entity integration work and vendor/broker meetings.
