Chief Technology Officer for India Asset Management is responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end technology strategy and roadmap, enabling secure, scalable and resilient platforms across distribution, investment and operations. This role leads engineering and technology delivery while ensuring strong operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and effective management of technology risk and third-party partners.

Key responsibilities

•            Set technology strategy & roadmap for India Asset Management aligned to business priorities, global standards, and local regulatory expectations.

•            Lead technology delivery across digital, distribution, investment and operations platforms; govern prioritisation, milestones, and benefits realisation.

•            Run stable, resilient services: own production reliability, incident/problem management, Disaster Recovery(DR)/Business Continuity Plan(BCP) readiness, capacity planning, and observability.

•            Modernise engineering practices: Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), DevSecOps, test automation, Site Reliability Engineering(SRE) practices, API-first integration, and platform reuse/simplification.

•            Own technology risk, security & compliance: security-by-design, control effectiveness, audit readiness, vulnerability remediation, and third-party risk management.

•            Build data & analytics capabilities: data platform direction, governance (quality/lineage/ownership), and fit-for-purpose MI/regulatory reporting.

•            Manage vendors, sourcing & budgets: commercial performance, delivery assurance, and cost optimisation (run vs change), including legacy decommissioning.

•            Partner with senior stakeholders across business, operations, risk/compliance, and group technology to translate outcomes into executable plans.

Technical competency (what the role should be strong in)

•            Asset/Wealth domain technology: distribution and client servicing journeys, onboarding/KYC, order management and post-trade integration, reporting/MI.

•            Architecture & integration: API design/management, event-driven patterns, microservices (where appropriate), enterprise integration, and system interoperability.

•            Cloud & infrastructure (hybrid): cloud-native concepts, containerisation, resilience patterns, networking basics, and environment standardisation.

•            Operational resilience & Site Reliability Engineering(SRE): monitoring/alerting, Service Level Agreements(SLAs), incident response, root cause analysis, capacity/performance engineering, Disaster Recovery(DR) design/testing.

•            Security engineering: secure Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC), Identity and Access Management (IAM), secrets management, encryption, vulnerability management, and security controls embedded in pipelines.

•            Data platforms & governance: data modelling basics, Extract Transform Load(ETL)/Extract Load and Transfer(ELT) patterns, data quality controls, lineage, and regulatory reporting readiness.

•            DevSecOps toolchains: Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, artefact management, code quality scanning, and release governance.

•            Vendor/third-party technology management: integration oversight, service performance management, and technology risk assessment of suppliers.
Requirements Experience: 15–25 years of experience; prior experience in SEBI regulated organisation is preferred Minimum Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher
