About this role
Klarna, briefly At Klarna, we're building an everyday finance network, helping over 120 million consumers across 26 countries save time and money, and worry less about their finances. Working here means taking on problems most companies never get to solve, and being hands-on enough that the interesting part of the work lands with you, not someone else — you'll build with AI, not watch it happen. This is the stretch zone. Come find out what you're capable of. About the role When an acquiring partner needs to understand exactly how Klarna's payment services will fit into their systems, someone has to turn that into a concrete technical answer they can act on. That's you. You'll sit inside the acquiring partner-facing teams, working closely with Product and Engineering, and bring technical and product depth into commercial conversations — partner pitches, technical workshops, integration walkthroughs. You'll act as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external partners, owning the technical side of the pre-sales process and the solution proposals that go out to partners. With Acquiring Partners specifically, you'll own the end-to-end technical integration narrative — APIs and tokenisation flows, error handling, reconciliation and settlement behaviours, testing strategy, and go-live readiness — in close collaboration with Product and Engineering. What you'll do You'll lead product demos and presentations, and provide technical input into partner proposals. You'll translate product and business requirements into integration solutions partners can actually implement. You'll define the technical approach to APIs and tokenisation flows, error handling, reconciliation and settlement behaviours, testing strategy, and go-live readiness for each partner integration. You'll use AI tools to move faster through solution design and technical proposal work. You'll work directly with Product and Engineering to make sure what you propose to partners is technically sound before it ships. Who you are You've spent 5+ years implementing or integrating technical solutions, with hands-on exposure to APIs, authentication patterns, and product troubleshooting, ideally in payments or fintech. You're familiar with payment systems and concepts — acquiring, issuing, tokenisation, payment flow, order management, settlements — and curious to go deeper into the mechanics of Klarna's payment integrations specifically. You're comfortable working hands-on with API tooling like Postman, Bruno, or Swagger/OpenAPI to validate and troubleshoot integrations yourself. You understand card scheme and network rules (Visa, Mastercard) as they apply to acquiring flows, chargebacks, and disputes. You use AI tools yourself, and you push for their use across the team when they improve the speed or quality of a solution. You're comfortable presenting and leading technical discussions with Go-to-Market, Product, and Engineering, as well as partner-facing conversations with commercial stakeholders. Bonus points for Client-facing technical experience with web technologies, including payments integrations or checkout ecosystems. Familiarity with HTML/CSS and at least one programming language, such as PHP, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby on Rails. Experience with web shop systems and content management systems. Prior technical pre-sales, solution consulting, or delivery-facing engineering experience alongside commercial teams. Awareness of PCI DSS and cardholder data handling requirements. Things you should know before applying Working together: we value co-located teams; most teams currently meet in the office 2–3 days per week, and this varies by team and can change over time. Non-obvious backgrounds are welcome. Diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds is how we create, innovate, and disrupt like no other. Final compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. Please include a CV in English. Concrete beats comprehensive — what you built, what it did, what it cost.
