Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is a 24/7 award-winning veterinary hospital and is now hiring a Discharge Coordinator. Our center is a newly renovated, 13,000+ square foot facility with dedicated staff and state-of-the-art equipment (like digital radiography and endoscopy) to offer the highest level of emergency and critical care.

Schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
- Weekends and holidays as needed
Discharge Coordinator Responsibilities
- Facilitate clear, compassionate communication between hospital staff, pet owners, and referring primary veterinarians.
- Bridge interdepartmental communication between Emergency, Surgery, and other specialty services.
- Assist clinicians with client updates, consultations, and discharge instructions
- Guide clients through the discharge process, addressing questions during pickup and providing post-discharge follow-up to ensure a seamless transition to home care.
- Manage patient records and relay diagnostic findings, including laboratory, radiology, and ultrasound results.
- Conduct proactive client callbacks, routine follow-ups, and post-visit check-ins
- Prepare treatment estimates, coordinate billing inquiries, and perform hospital billing audits.
- Operate multi-line phone systems, oversee medical record-keeping, and handle daily office administration.
- Take initiative in a fast-paced clinical setting while delivering empathetic, attentive client and patient support.
- Maintain an organized workflow, a positive attitude, and professional conduct across all team and client interactions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with doctors, veterinary technicians, and support staff to support hospital operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent 
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment
