About The Role:

The T/R Machinist is responsible for machining, repairing, and fabricating precision tooling, equipment, and machine components that support plant operations. This role uses technical expertise, blueprint interpretation, and precision machining practices to deliver high-quality parts safely, efficiently, and to specification. The position also promotes a strong safety culture and complies with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do :

- Set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machine tools to produce, repair, and modify precision parts and tooling.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to manufacture components accurately and efficiently.
- Select appropriate tooling, materials, fixtures, and machining methods based on job requirements.
- workpieces, tooling, and fixtures to ensure safe and accurate machining operations.
- Perform machining operations using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores, and other shop equipment.
- Set up and adjust machine parameters to achieve required tolerances and part specifications.
- Measure and inspect finished work using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, gauges, and calipers. Calculate dimensions, tolerances, feeds, and speeds to support precision machining activities.
- Verify product quality through routine inspections and adherence to engineering specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and identify tooling, equipment, or process issues requiring correction.
- Safely operate overhead hoists and material handling equipment to move parts and materials.
- Maintain an organized work area through 5S standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, engineering, and other departments to support operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Have:

- High school diploma or GED; technical training, or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or tool room environment; equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Experience operating manual machine tools required; CNC machining and programming experience preferred.
- Experience in a job shop, industrial maintenance, or production manufacturing environment is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of precision machining practices and tight-tolerance manufacturing.
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
- Familiarity with tooling, cutting tools, machining processes, feeds, and speeds.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, measurements, and dimensional calculations.
- Ability to learn and utilize conversational and CNC programming systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with maintenance, production, and engineering teams.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
