The Loan Closing Operations AVP will oversee syndicated loan closing operations across member, bilateral, and agented transactions. This role is responsible for coordinating financial closings, funding and booking readiness, trade settlement support, system setup, and post-closing activities while ensuring transactions are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with applicable documentation, approvals, KYC, operational, and system requirements. The role works closely with front office teams, business lines, internal operations and servicing groups, agent banks, investors, issuing banks, syndications teams, and other stakeholders to support seamless transaction execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex syndicated and commercial loan transactions through the full closing lifecycle, including member, bilateral, agency, and participation facilities.
- Review loan documentation and transaction terms to identify funding, booking, servicing, reporting, system setup, and operational requirements.
- Confirm required approvals, sanctions, KYC, documentation, controls, and operational conditions are completed or escalated before closing.
- Lead cross-team coordination with business lines, syndications, legal, servicing teams, agent banks, investors, and other stakeholders to support timely execution.
- Prioritize workflow, monitor pipeline activity, make operational decisions, and escalate material risks, exceptions, or recommendations to management.
- Review and approve Analyst-prepared transaction setups, funding requirements, and deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Coach and develop Analysts through feedback, training, knowledge sharing, and guidance on documentation review, transaction readiness, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate trade settlement activity by aligning with internal teams, agent banks, investors, and settlement platforms to support accurate and timely execution.
- Lead resolution of complex documentation, funding, booking, trade settlement, and operational issues by coordinating stakeholders and recommending solutions.

Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of syndicated and commercial loan products, market conventions, and administrative agent, member bank, and bilateral lender structures.
- Ability to independently review legal loan documentation, interpret transaction terms, assess operational impacts, and identify items requiring clarification, escalation, amendment, or action.
- Proven experience managing complex transactions, coordinating stakeholder relationships, and supporting timely resolution of documentation, funding, settlement, or operational issues.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, leadership, coaching, and project management skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting operational initiatives, process improvements, control enhancements, audits, regulatory reviews, or department-level projects preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally with front office partners, internal teams, clients, investors, agent banks, issuing banks, syndications teams, and other external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with lending, servicing, or settlement platforms such as OVS, ACBS, Loan IQ, ClearPar, SyndTrak, Intralinks, or Debt Domain preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of experience in syndicated loan operations, loan closing, agency services, trade settlement, commercial lending, or a related financial services function.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $84K - $106K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
