THE ROLE

We're hiring a Paint Line Lead at our Utah Facility. You'll lead day-to-day paint line operations — providing floor support, training, and safety leadership — while performing the full range of coating and finishing work, as part of our Paint Line team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Provide floor support to paint line and production teams

- Assist the Production Manager with day-to-day activities when needed, and balance paint line production assignments when required

- Provide guidance and training to new Paint Line Technicians, and reinforce knowledge and best practices across the team

- Hold weekly touchpoints with team members and report observations to supervisors

- Support Victaulic safety and FEM initiatives as an area representative

- Operate electrostatic spray systems, powder coating systems, and other advanced industrial painting equipment

- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of industrial coatings, primers, and finishing systems

- Support corrective action investigations for recurring coating defects

- Support onboarding and cross-training of new hires and Level 1/Level 2 Paint Line Technicians

- Support process improvement initiatives in paint line operations

- Apply coatings using spray guns or industrial painting equipment, and mix paints, primers, and coatings per manufacturer specifications

- Operate paint booths, curing ovens, and drying systems; inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, bubbles, improper coverage, or contamination

- Verify coating thickness and adhesion using inspection tools and gauges

- Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and paint systems; perform routine preventative maintenance on booth equipment

- Set up and prepare the blasting/paint area, including arranging pipes, setting up scaffolding or supports, and securing the area for safe operation

- Ensure paint materials and chemicals are stored and handled per safety and environmental requirements

- Maintain accurate production records and material usage logs

- Escalate safety, quality, or process concerns immediately; maintain an organized and clean work area

WHAT YOU NEED

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 1–3 years of painting experience

- Demonstrated proficiency across Level 1–3 Paint Line Technician skills (surface prep, coating application, and advanced/electrostatic and powder coating systems)

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Good problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently, effectively, and stay self-motivated

- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality

- Physical ability to lift heavy material and stand for extended periods

- Ability to lead, train, and coach a team

NICE TO HAVE

- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

- Prior experience training or mentoring other paint line employees

COMPENSATION

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, and the full benefits package described above
