·         Starting pay of $25.30/hr. up to top pay of $35.71/hr.*

·         Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential

*additional shift differential for off-shifts

General Purpose of the Position:

Set up, operate, program, maintain, and repair CNC machines, manual machine tools, and industrial equipment to produce precision parts and instruments. Serve as a shared resource supporting both Machining and Maintenance functions, with primary responsibility for machinist duties including fabrication, modification, and repair of precision components. Perform skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and physical structures as needed to support equipment reliability and plant operations. Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, machining procedures, and machine programming/editing to support production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Set up, operate, and perform basic programming/editing of CNC and manual machine tools to produce precision parts and components.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to determine machining methods, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances and inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers.
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, materials, and cutting technologies required for machining operations.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair parts, jigs, fixtures, and sheet metal components to support manufacturing and maintenance needs.
- Serve as a shared resource supporting both Machining and Maintenance functions, with primary responsibility for machinist duties.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to support production operations.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities and equipment rebuilds to improve reliability and support TPM initiatives.
- Maintain and install facility equipment, electrical systems, and related infrastructure as needed.
- Maintain maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS system.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Knowledge you should bring:

- Ability to program, set up, and operate CNC machines with minimal guidance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, G-code, and GD&T requirements.
- Understand dimensioning, tolerancing, feeds and speeds, and the machining properties of metals and plastics.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software, including EZ-CAM or similar systems, to support machining operations.
- Experience programming and operating plasma cutting equipment preferred.
- Apply strong mathematical skills to machining, measurement, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment, facility systems, and maintenance repair practices.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex manufacturing machinery and production equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance activities, including running reports and monitoring maintenance performance metrics.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively for assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Work independently and collaboratively to support production, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

§  Education: Prefer Technical Education in Machining/Maintenance

§  Years of Experience: 3-5 years
