Production Manager Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations for highly engineered precision electromechanical assemblies, semiconductor equipment, and advanced technical products .
This position is responsible for production execution, workforce performance, manufacturing quality, safety, productivity, and on-time delivery. The Production Manager will directly lead manufacturing employees while partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Facilities, and other technical teams.
This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position for someone experienced in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, precision instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices, advanced electronics, industrial automation, or similar technical manufacturing environments .
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Operations
- Lead daily production activities for advanced technical and precision electromechanical products.
- Manage performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and labor effectiveness .
- Establish production priorities and allocate labor and resources based on manufacturing requirements.
- Identify production risks, escalate issues, and implement recovery plans when schedules or quality targets are at risk.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, documentation requirements, and manufacturing processes.
- Establish clear expectations, standard work, and effective communication between production teams.
Cross-Functional Manufacturing Leadership
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Facilities, and Operations to meet manufacturing goals.
- Support manufacturing readiness, new product introductions, product transitions, and complex production builds.
- Use manufacturing data, KPIs, and production metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
- Support implementation and adoption of manufacturing systems, production tools, and standardized processes.
- Communicate production performance, risks, constraints, and recovery plans to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Team Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing employees in a technical production environment.
- Establish expectations for safety, workmanship, quality, documentation, teamwork, and production performance.
- Support employee onboarding, training, cross-training, and skills development.
- Build workforce capability to meet changing manufacturing and production needs.
- Promote an accountable, inclusive, safety-focused workplace.
- Partner with Human Resources on staffing, workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in production throughput, cycle time, first-pass yield, quality, rework reduction, and productivity .
- Apply structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) to recurring manufacturing issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve production flow, manufacturing readiness, and operational efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives .
- Develop processes that improve consistency, accountability, quality, and customer-focused execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field , or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; 6 years with a Masters degree; 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent relevant experience .
- Experience leading manufacturing employees within a production, technical operations, or advanced manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing production schedules, workforce resources, manufacturing priorities, and performance metrics.
- Strong experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and related manufacturing teams.
- Experience identifying and resolving manufacturing constraints, quality issues, and production delays.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience within one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:
- Semiconductor equipment manufacturing
- Precision instrumentation
- Electromechanical manufacturing

- Complex engineered equipment
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, process improvement, and root cause analysis is strongly preferred.

Work Environment
This position works primarily within a manufacturing and technical production environment and requires regular time on the production floor.
The Production Manager will work closely with manufacturing employees, engineers, quality personnel, testing teams, supply chain, and other operational departments. The role may occasionally require additional support for urgent production priorities, manufacturing issues, schedule changes, or customer-driven needs.
All employees are expected to follow applicable safety, quality, documentation, and operational requirements.
