Job Description: Our squad that needs a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in Performance & Load Tuning to optimize and scale high-throughput database systems under extreme transactional loads. In this role, you will analyze database behavior under stress, resolve complex locking and replication issues, monitor deep saturation metrics, and partner with engineering leadership to architect long-term database scaling strategies. Required Skills:- Hands-on DBA experience with MariaDB and MySQL in high-concurrency production environments.- Deep expertise in query execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, buffer pool optimization, and lock/latch contention analysis.- Solid track record in managing replication topologies (Master-Replica, Galera Cluster, or InnoDB Cluster) and diagnosing replication lag under load.- Proficiency with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), Performance_Schema, sys schema, Slow Query Logs, or Datadog/Grafana DB metrics).- Demonstrated experience identifying performance ceilings and advising on structural fixes (schema redesign, connection pooling via ProxySQL/MaxScale, or partition strategies). Preferred Skills:- Experience implementing database sharding architectures or large-scale data partitioning.- Experience with database proxies such as ProxySQL or MariaDB MaxScale for query routing and read-scaling.- Familiarity with Bash, Python, or Go for database performance automation and stress-testing scripts.- Familiarity with cloud-managed relational databases (e.g., AWS Aurora MySQL or GCP Cloud SQL for MySQL).
