Software Engineer
Job Title: Software Engineer specializing in Performance & Load Testing
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid)
Job Description: Our squad that needs a Software Engineer specializing in Performance & Load Testing to build next-generation traffic-replay infrastructure and scenario-generation tooling. Rather than executing manual performance tests, you will build software that parses raw API/event logs, converts massive exports into realistic, replayable traffic profiles (utilizing LLM-assisted pipelines), and partners with engineering teams to diagnose and remediate core system bottlenecks.
Responsibilities:- Build automated tooling, data parsers, and custom load generators using languages like Go, Python, Java, or Rust.- Build or customize load generation frameworks (k6, Locust, Gatling, or custom distributed replay tools).- Process massive datasets (JSON, Parquet, PCAP, raw HTTP/event logs) to reconstruct stateful application workflows.- Isolate system bottlenecks using telemetry tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, OpenTelemetry).- Understand and work with HTTP/REST, WebSockets, gRPC, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Required Skills:- Strong engineering background in relevant programming languages.- Deep experience with load generation frameworks.- Experience processing large datasets.- Hands-on experience with telemetry tools.- Deep understanding of various communication protocols and architectures. Preferred Skills:- Experience using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or prompt-engineering pipelines to parse, structure, or generate synthetic test data from unstructured logs.- Expertise managing distributed, multi-region load testing infrastructure on Kubernetes/Cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
