Regulatory Strategy Data Architect

Position OverviewOur Client is looking for a Regulatory Strategy Data Architect to design scalable, extensible, and supportable data architectures that support global Regulatory Strategy and Intelligence capabilities. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional technical, data science, and business leadership to align regulatory data assets with broader enterprise strategies, build semantic layers for AI-driven insights, and champion robust data governance frameworks across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs), and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) for complex regulatory data solutions.Drive data standardization, graph databases, ontology management, and RAG/vectorization capabilities to accelerate contextualization for generative AI initiatives.Ensure regulatory data products align with cross-domain, R&D, and enterprise data platform standards using proven design patterns.Collaborate with Data Governance teams to define policies, data quality standards, and stewardship frameworks for master and reference data.Translate business needs into technical architectures, resolve cross-unit requirements, and coach product and engineering teams on best practices.

Qualifications & Required Skills:Demonstrated experience designing scalable data architectures, enterprise data flow diagrams, and complex logical/physical data models within pharmaceuticals or life sciences.2+ years of hands-on experience developing content vectorization, graph database, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) strategies.Proven mastery of data governance, master data management (MDM), reference data, and data integration patterns.Strong knowledge of cloud data platform architectures and technical design principles.Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a technical, engineering, or scientific field.

Preferred SkillsAWS Certified Data Engineer (or Azure/GCP equivalent).Experience with Snowflake and data virtualization tools like Denodo.AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty or AWS Well-Architected Framework certification.Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory strategy, regulatory information management (RIM), and clinical/R&D data workflows.
