Overview <div>As a Part Time Logistics Technician, also known as a Datacenter Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will help keep the equipment behind Microsoft’s cloud services organised, secure and available. </div><div>If you bring experience from highly regulated, process driven environments — such as logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or quality-controlled operations — and take pride in doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here. Specific working days and hours will be discussed during the recruitment process. <div>What is a datacenter? </div><div>A datacenter is a secure building that houses computer servers, storage equipment and networking technology. These systems help power everyday digital services such as Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Xbox, Bing and Microsoft Azure. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. </div></div> Responsibilities <div><div><ul><li>Perform assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations under the guidance of more experienced Data Center colleagues.    </li><li>Coordinate with suppliers to initiate warranty claim and process failed vendor hardware devices. This includes information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to RMA warranty process. </li><li>Develop working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices and procedures. </li><li>Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as records. </li><li>Become familiar with guidelines set by Microsoft contractual agreements with suppliers and maintain a strong customer focus. </li><li>Perform cycle audits and data corrections to ensure all inventory controls are met. </li><li>Help to reconcile and report inventory discrepancies. </li><li>Ensure detailed physical inventory tracking and staging. </li><li>Under the supervision of more experienced Data Center colleagues, destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies. </li><li>Comply with all security and data management policies.  </li></ul></div></div> Qualifications Required Qualifications <ul><li>Completed High School/BTEC/Apprenticeship or equivalent AND has the relevant 6 months experience OR an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field</li><li>OR equivalent experience. </li></ul>While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>1+ years’ experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation</li><li>OR equivalent experience. </li></ul><div>Background Check Requirements:  </div><div>Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  </div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. </li></ul></div> Logistics Technician ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 33,600.00 - £ 40,400.00 per year.
