Manager, Maintenance

- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:
- The Global Operating System Plays;
- ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard;
- IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
- Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
- Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
- Maintain department 5S requirements.
- Lead and direct maintenance personnel and departmental activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Maintain effective employee relations by addressing employee concerns, providing guidance, and partnering with appropriate resources to resolve issues.
- Conduct monthly department meetings and communicate priorities, safety expectations, performance, and operational needs.
- Complete performance evaluations for maintenance employees and provide ongoing coaching, development, and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate parts, supplies, materials, and specialized tools are available to maintain essential equipment and maximize uptime.
- Maintain preventive maintenance software, schedules, records, work orders, and related documentation.
- Coordinate contractor quotations in conjunction with Purchasing and oversee contractor work as required.
- Oversee, mentor, develop, and direct maintenance staff to ensure appropriate technical capability, work quality, and coverage.
- Serve as department champion for contractor requirements and ensure required contractor documentation is complete and maintained.
- Identify, recommend, authorize, and coordinate required technical, safety, and developmental training for the department.
- Develop and monitor detailed overhaul, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance schedules for plant equipment, shop tools, vehicles, buildings, and facility systems.
- Develop and monitor department operating and project budgets and manage maintenance resources with appropriate attention to cost and business priorities.
- Prioritize planned and emergency maintenance work to minimize production interruption and respond effectively to equipment and facility issues.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and other functions to troubleshoot equipment issues, plan repairs, coordinate projects, and improve equipment reliability.
- Monitor maintenance performance, downtime, recurring failures, and work completion and implement corrective or improvement actions as needed.
- Ensure maintenance and installation work is completed using appropriate methods, procedures, specifications, and safety practices.

Academic Requirements:
BS degree in technical field.

Additional Requirements:
Minimum of five years in a maintenance machining environment and two years as a supervisor or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret completed inspection forms, technical manuals, assembly drawings, equipment documentation, and maintenance records.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate work status, priorities, technical issues, and requirements to employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

Ability to prioritize planned and emergency work, establish schedules and shift priorities, coordinate multiple assignments, and meet project timelines.

Ability to work independently and provide professional technical guidance and oversight for maintenance, repair, installation, and project activities involving employees and subcontractors.

Intermediate knowledge of applicable Microsoft and maintenance software applications.
