Job Summary

ADTRAN is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Lead to support daily manufacturing operations within our electronics production environment. This role serves as a key resource on the production floor, working closely with Operations Supervisors and team members to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, maintain quality standards, and support a safe and productive work environment.

The Operations Lead will spend the majority of their time on the manufacturing floor coordinating workflow, prioritizing resources, monitoring production performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in achieving throughput, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner closely with Operations Supervisors to execute daily production priorities and business objectives.
- Prioritize work assignments and allocate resources to ensure efficient processing of production work orders.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and motivation for production team members.
- Support departmental goals by improving throughput, reducing defects, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Monitor manufacturing performance metrics including cycle times, line utilization, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Assess equipment downtime events, determine root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Escalate employee performance concerns to Operations Supervisors and Managers as appropriate.
- Ensure quality and quantity objectives are consistently achieved throughout the manufacturing process.
- Train production employees and provide ongoing coaching and on-the-job guidance.
- Promote and implement self-directed work principles to achieve productivity and quality goals.
- Foster a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies and safe operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate production records and support operational reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance to support departmental workflow and production commitments.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing leadership, lead, or supervisory capacity preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Working knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes and production operations.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and reporting.
- Familiarity with manufacturing test processes and automated inventory systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to train and mentor manufacturing personnel.
- Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack on a regular basis.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

- Ability to work in a manufacturing production environment for extended periods.
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the production floor.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials consistent with manufacturing operations.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including manual pallet jacks.
