Position Overview

ADTRAN is seeking a detail-oriented ICT Operator to support manufacturing operations through the execution of in-circuit testing (ICT), troubleshooting, and product verification activities. This role is responsible for operating ICT equipment, maintaining production flow, supporting quality objectives, and ensuring products meet established manufacturing standards.

The ICT Operator works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to identify defects, improve test processes, and support daily operational goals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment and is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate In-Circuit Test (ICT) equipment to test and verify printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
- Follow established work instructions, test procedures, and quality standards.
- Analyze test failures and perform basic troubleshooting to identify potential defects.
- Accurately document test results, failure data, and production metrics.
- Escalate recurring product, process, or equipment issues to Engineering and Manufacturing leadership.
- Ensure tested products meet quality and performance requirements before advancing to the next operation.
- Monitor equipment performance and notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions or downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on first-pass yield, throughput, and quality.
- Assist with root cause investigations related to test failures and manufacturing defects.
- Maintain accurate production records and inventory transactions within SAP and other manufacturing systems.
- Adhere to all ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area consistent with 5S principles.
- Support cross-training initiatives and assist in training new team members as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting changing production requirements and schedules.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance to ensure efficient workflow and operational success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.

Experience

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous experience operating ICT, functional test, or automated manufacturing test equipment preferred.
- Experience with printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Understanding of electronic components and printed circuit board assemblies.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of ESD control procedures and safe handling practices.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and manufacturing quality systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to effectively communicate with operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
- Ability to prioritize work and function effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Frequent use of hands for operating equipment and handling electronic assemblies.
- Ability to work in an electronics manufacturing environment while adhering to ESD requirements.
