POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a temporary assignment designed to support operational requirements during a period of increased business demand.
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing daily manufacturing and/or repair operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of quality products. This role manages workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, staffing, performance management, and employee relations while fostering a positive and engaged work environment.
As a hands-on leader, the Manufacturing Supervisor serves as a coach and mentor, developing high-performing teams through continuous training, skill development, and employee empowerment. The supervisor builds a culture of accountability, collaboration, and shared ownership by encouraging employees to take increasing responsibility for work execution, problem-solving, and process improvement.
In addition to day-to-day operational leadership, this position partners cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, improve productivity and quality, and participate in special projects that advance organizational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, communicates, and implements short-term plans consistent with organizational and business unit goals. Includes resource planning, goal setting, and prioritizing.
- Applies a wide variety of manufacturing concepts and tools towards development of a functional manufacturing organization to meet overall business goals.
- Drives their functional team to meet metrics, goals, and objectives and leads improvement projects.
- Provides coaching and contributes to the professional growth of employees.
- Responsible for all staffing activities including hiring, performance appraisal, promotion, discipline, and termination.
- Develops and implements structures that promote work team ownership of continuous improvement and corrective action processes.
- Works cross-functionally with Production Planning, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, and other key groups to review, analyze and optimize new and existing products and processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Vancouver, WA
- Environment: manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced. Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience leading teams in areas such as production supervision, employee development, performance management, process improvement, and production planning.
- Working knowledge of forecasting, capacity planning, budgeting, and resource allocation processes.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, schedules, and competing business demands.
- Demonstrated ability to address employee relations matters, resolve conflicts, and manage performance and corrective action processes professionally and effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer requirements, production demands, material availability, and business priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and delivery.
- Strong collaborative leadership style with the ability to engage cross-functional teams in decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of employment laws, labor relations practices, and company policies applicable to a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems, with the ability to leverage system capabilities to support production planning, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, demand-driven production systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, operational excellence, and employee engagement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience operating in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading manufacturing operations within aerospace, defense, electronics, medical device, or other highly regulated industries.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS, or other operational excellence certifications.
- Experience implementing process improvements that improve productivity, quality, cost, or on-time delivery performance.
- Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field preferred, or a combination of relevant experience and/or education.
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
This is a temporary position employed and paid through a staffing agency. The anticipated pay range for this role is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour .
