Licensed Electrician-JLL

What this job involves:

As a Licensed Electrician at JLL, you'll be responsible for the inspection, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems and associated facility equipment across complex commercial environments. This position provides hands-on electrical support for building infrastructure, mechanical systems, central utility equipment, specialized spaces, and other systems requiring reliable electrical service. You'll work with diverse systems including electrical distribution panels, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, emergency generators, UPS equipment, lighting controls, and electrical support for HVAC and central plant equipment. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems including distribution panels, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, VFDs, emergency generators, ATS equipment, and UPS systems

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution equipment, identifying abnormal conditions such as overheating, damaged components, loose connections, and overloads

• Support electrical requirements for chillers, pumps, air-handling equipment, laboratory systems, and other mechanical infrastructure to ensure reliable facility operations

• Troubleshoot breakers, motor circuits, controls, relays, VFDs, lighting systems, and building automation interfaces using electrical diagrams and test equipment

• Apply electrical safety practices including NFPA 70E requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and verification of electrically safe work conditions using appropriate PPE

• Complete assigned work orders within the CMMS, documenting findings, repairs, readings, materials used, and follow-up requirements for accurate maintenance records

• Support planned shutdowns, emergency response to power disturbances, equipment commissioning activities, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams during infrastructure projects

Required qualifications:

• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license applicable to the jurisdiction and scope of work performed

• Minimum 5 years of commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical experience with hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting

• Demonstrated experience with 480V/277V and 208V/120V commercial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, MCCs, generators, ATS equipment, and UPS systems

• Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E arc flash safety standards, and Lockout/Tagout requirements

• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, panel schedules, and equipment documentation

• Physical capability to perform essential job functions including working at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in complex commercial, industrial, laboratory, data center, or technology facility environments

• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order completion and documentation

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification demonstrating commitment to workplace safety

• Experience supporting electrical infrastructure during equipment commissioning, testing programs, and condition assessments

• Strong communication skills for coordinating with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional facility teams during maintenance activities
