Modeling and Simulation Software Developer

n Logic is seeking a talented Modeling and Simulation Software Developer to join our team supporting advanced missile defense systems in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will combine strong software development skills with a solid understanding of aerospace, mathematical, and physics concepts to develop and enhance Modeling and Simulation (M&S) capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

- Develop, modify, and maintain software supporting Modeling and Simulation (M&S) products for advanced missile defense systems.

- Develop scripts and software to implement and evaluate simulation capabilities.

- Apply mathematical, physics, and aerospace concepts to develop and understand simulation models and algorithms.

- Prototype high-level system requirements and model Concepts of Operations (CONOPs) within M&S environments.

- Derive and apply aerospace and mathematical equations to support system and simulation requirements.

- Analyze simulation results and flight performance to evaluate system behavior and identify potential issues.

- Perform root cause analysis and support specification and model tuning as required.

- Develop and execute scripts to test software and analyze results.

- Support integration, verification, and validation of M&S software and simulation capabilities.

- Maintain technical documentation associated with M&S products.

- Work collaboratively with software developers, systems engineers, analysts, and other technical personnel to develop and improve M&S capabilities.

Qualifications

- Active Secret Security Clearance

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field

- Experience of relevant software development, aerospace, systems engineering, or Modeling and Simulation experience

- Demonstrated software development and coding skills are required.

- Position requires a strong understanding of mathematical and/or physics concepts and the ability to apply them to Modeling and Simulation.

- Experience with Modeling and Simulation on a missile defense or equivalent Department of Defense (DoD) system is highly desired.

- Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organizations and programs is preferred.

- Experience working in a Linux environment is preferred.

- Experience developing or working with simulation software, aerospace systems, or flight dynamics is preferred.

- Demonstrated self-initiative, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.

- Must possess the ability to clearly express technical ideas and concepts, perform effectively as part of a team, and operate successfully in a multi-tasking environment.
