Position Purpose
The Assistant Night Supervisor supports the Night Supervisor in overseeing overnight store operations, including stocking, merchandising, inventory management, store recovery, and associate supervision. This position helps ensure shelves are fully stocked, displays are maintained, and the store is prepared for opening while supporting productivity, safety, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
Overnight Operations
- Assist in coordinating nightly stocking and merchandising activities throughout the store.
- Ensure products are stocked, faced, rotated, and displayed according to company standards.
- Support execution of ad displays, seasonal merchandising, and promotional programs.
- Verify the sales floor is clean, organized, and ready for business each morning.
- Assist in monitoring overnight productivity and completion of assigned tasks.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership and direction to night crew associates.
- Assist with training, onboarding, coaching, and development of overnight associates.
- Assign work tasks and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Night Supervisor.
Inventory & Merchandising
- Ensure accurate stocking, rotation, and inventory control procedures are followed.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and replenishing merchandise.
- Monitor out-of-stock conditions and report inventory concerns.
- Verify pricing, signage, and merchandising standards are maintained.
- Help reduce shrink through proper product handling and inventory management.
Store Recovery & Readiness
- Assist with store conditioning, facing, blocking, and recovery efforts.
- Ensure aisles, displays, and end caps meet company appearance standards.
- Verify sales floor cleanliness and readiness prior to store opening.
- Assist with seasonal resets, remodel activities, and major merchandising projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
- Ensure proper operation and use of pallet jacks, stocking equipment, ladders, and other tools.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Report safety concerns, damages, and equipment issues promptly.
- Ensure company policies and operational procedures are followed.
Customer Service
- Provide professional customer service when interacting with customers during overnight and early morning hours.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering questions when needed.
- Support a customer-focused culture throughout the store.
