Claims Handler - General Liability & Property

We're looking for a Senior Claims Handler to join ClaimSorted in downtown Dallas, five days a week in office, handling commercial general liability and property claims.

This role is ideal for:

- a senior handler who wants to build their career at a company that rewards performance
- someone with 10+ years of commercial GL and property experience who is hungry to learn and grow fast
- an experienced adjuster who wants to move into managing a team as we scale

You'll come in as a senior individual contributor, owning our most complex commercial files from day one. As the book grows, we want you to grow with it - into mentoring, then managing, then building out the team. We will give you the training and support to get there: people management, performance management, data, quality, and capacity planning. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Handle complex commercial GL and property claims end to end: from first notification of loss through to settlement

- Review policy wordings, verify coverage, and make well-reasoned coverage determinations
- Investigate and assess liability and damages, coordinating experts, engineers, and loss adjusters where needed
- Communicate with insureds, brokers, and carrier partners throughout the claims journey
- Set appropriate reserves and manage claims within your authority, escalating clearly and early where you need to
- Manage litigated files and defence counsel, driving to resolution
- Maintain accurate and thorough claims records for audit and compliance
- Act as a technical reference point for less experienced handlers, and contribute to continuous improvement by flagging process inefficiencies

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Willing to work 5 days in office in Dallas (in our amazing new office Downtown)
- 5+ years of commercial claims experience across general liability and property
- Texas All-Lines Adjuster license, with Texas designated as your home state
- Strong coverage analysis skills and confidence taking a position and defending it
- Strong organisation and ability to prioritise independently
- Comfortable using data to make decisions
- Team-oriented, hardworking, and ambitious
- Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching others, and the ambition to manage a team
- Startup or high-growth experience is a plus
