AgTech Sales & Agronomy Intern – North America Irrigation

Position Description

Position Details
This internship is preferably located in Omaha, Nebraska, although candidates located in Texas, Georgia, or Idaho may also be considered. The position will include a combination of fieldwork, dealer and grower support, sales development, product training, data analysis, and technology implementation. Travel throughout North America, including overnight travel, may be required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist regional business leaders with grower demand creation for FieldNET Advisor and FieldNET aftermarket solutions throughout North America.
- Support FieldNET Advisor sales, adoption, customer support, and annual recurring revenue growth.
- Build trusted relationships with growers, dealers, agronomic consultants, and other industry partners.
- Help educate dealers and growers on FieldNET Advisor features, agronomic benefits, and software use.
- Provide dealer and grower training, technical support, and product development assistance.
- Support customers remotely by phone and in the field during the North American growing season.
- Assist with software field setup, account setup, agronomic data questions, customer concerns, and follow-up.
- Assist with the installation of soil moisture probes on case-study fields and educate dealers on the installation process when needed.
- Partner with the product team to identify and support case-study crops and field locations.
- Support hardware deployment and installation for field trials across North America.
- Assist with channel development by working alongside regional business leaders.
- Research competitive products, emerging technology, services, and changing market demands.
- Analyze market performance and opportunities using Excel and other available data.
- Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations related to market performance, opportunities, and AgTech solutions.
- Document and submit weekly activity notes and regularly update the assigned customer relationship management system, such as Salesforce.
- Communicate customer expectations and promptly share product, customer, or competitive concerns with management.
- Collaborate with regional managers, product managers, dealers, growers, and members of the AgTech team.
- Support efforts to increase awareness, enrollment, and adoption of FieldNET Advisor, TowerWatch, and FieldNET Premier across North America.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or trade school program with a major in Ag Business, Agronomy, Mechanized Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or another agriculture-related field.
- Background or knowledge in agronomy, agriculture, North American crops, irrigation methods, and farming practices.
- Strong communication, public speaking, decision-making, analytical, and business skills.
- Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, software, and electronic technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated and able to independently develop and manage a schedule.
- Comfortable initiating conversations with dealers, agronomic consultants, and growers.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively to accomplish sales and performance goals.
- Strong sense of urgency, organization, ownership, and follow-through.
- Able to remain calm and professional when assisting customers or resolving concerns.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to travel overnight for multiple nights.
- Must be flexible to work more than 40 hours during some weeks and respond to occasional phone calls outside normal working hours.
