Position Overview:
The IT Field Technician provides onsite support, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting across company locations. The role supports end-user devices, networks, point-of-sale and payment systems, gaming and fuel technologies, security systems, and other operational technology essential to daily business operations.
Working independently and with the IT Service Delivery team, the IT Field Technician travels to company locations to resolve issues, perform preventive maintenance, deploy technology, and support new site openings, remodels, relocations, acquisitions, and growth initiatives. As a frontline IT representative, the technician helps provide employees and customers with a reliable technology experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, scanners, peripherals in addition to related hardware including a/v systems and conference room technology.
- Travel to assigned company locations to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain end-user computing devices and business technology solutions.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, mobile devices, and business-critical software.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) systems, payment terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners, and related retail technologies.
- Support fuel forecourt technologies, including payment terminals, controllers, network-connected devices, and associated hardware.
- Troubleshoot and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, structured cabling, and internet connectivity.
- Support VoIP phone systems, telecommunications equipment, cellular devices, and related communication technologies.
- Coordinate and execute technology deployments associated with new store openings, remodels, relocations, acquisitions, and facility improvements.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, contractors, and internal IT teams to resolve incidents and complete project work.
- Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting activities, installations, maintenance work, and resolutions within the IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and support lifecycle activities, including receiving, staging, deployment, inventory control, recovery, and disposal to include inventory in technician service vehicles.
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend solutions that improve reliability, operational efficiency, and user experience.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance during evenings, weekends, and other non-business hours as required.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide emergency after-hours support for critical business systems and operational technologies.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, cybersecurity standards, compliance requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, business leaders, vendors, and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in field services, desktop support, technical support, or a similar IT support role.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, mobile devices, and end-user computing hardware.
- Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless networking issues.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or distributed operating environment preferred.
- Experience supporting retail, hospitality, gaming, fuel, convenience store, or similar operational technologies preferred.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent industry certifications preferred.
- Experience using IT ticketing systems is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
- Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a positive user experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, VPN connectivity, and network infrastructure fundamentals.
- Knowledge of retail technology, POS systems, payment technologies, and operational technology solutions preferred.
- Experience with structured cabling standards, cable testing, and basic network installations preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, network layouts, and floor plans.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage assignments across multiple locations and competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with a broader technical team.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift, carry, move, and install equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling while performing technical work.
- Ability to climb ladders and work above ceiling tiles when installing or troubleshooting technology equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, cable-testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools.
- Frequent use of computers, mobile devices, and technical support equipment.
- Ability to work in office, retail, warehouse, gaming, fuel-station, construction, and outdoor environments as business needs require.
- Ability to travel regularly between company locations; occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, scheduled maintenance windows, and emergency callouts when required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Work Environment
The IT Field Technician works in a variety of environments, including corporate offices, retail locations, convenience stores, gaming establishments, fuel facilities, warehouses, construction areas, and other company-operated sites. The position requires regular travel and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while supporting business operations in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. Work conditions may include moderate noise, active customer areas, outdoor exposure, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and other conditions associated with field-service activities.
This is an on-site position located in Las Vegas, NV.
