Rates Analysis Analyst

The Rates Analysis Analyst will deliver accurate and timely rates analysis and administration throughout the client rates lifecycle. The role involves reviewing and interpreting client pricing arrangements, maintaining rates in Firm systems, and supporting accurate and compliant billing outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

- Review and interpret client agreements, engagement terms, rate schedules and fee arrangements.
- Calculate, validate and perform data-quality checks on client, matter and timekeeper rates.
- Set up, maintain and update rates accurately in SAP and other Firm systems.
- Support client and matter onboarding through pricing analysis, system configuration, validation and approval tracking.
- Apply rate cards, discounts, volume-based arrangements and client-specific exceptions.
- Investigate rate-related queries, eBilling rejections and pricing discrepancies.
- Support annual and ad hoc rate reviews, including calculations, validation and system implementation.
- Maintain accurate pricing documentation and tracking records.
- Follow established procedures and controls to support contractual compliance and minimise errors, rework and revenue leakage.
- Collaborate with Rates, Revenue, Billing, eBilling, Pricing Strategy, Finance and Client Service teams.

Requirements, qualifications and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience in rates, pricing, billing, finance operations, data administration or a professional services environment is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret detailed agreements, pricing information and data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, consistent and timely delivery.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience with financial or enterprise systems is advantageous. SAP experience is preferred but not required.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines and communicate potential delivery risks.
- Ability to follow defined procedures and controls while identifying exceptions, discrepancies and potential risks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes, systems and skills.
- Flexibility to work an agreed shift pattern where required to support business and regional coverage.
