Summary

As a BottleDrop Team Member I, youll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our customers while supporting Oregons recycling efforts. Youll provide friendly, professional service and operate equipment that sorts, counts, compacts, and moves beverage containers for redemption.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist BottleDrop customers with kiosk, payment slips, bags, tags, stream count, hand counts, and reverse vending machines (RVMs).
Maintain the appearance of the facility inside and outside including sweeping, mopping, using a powered floor scrubber, wiping down counters, machines, windows and doors, properly storing supplies and cleaning the break room and restrooms.
Educate and introduce customers to Oregons Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system.
Enforce daily limits in a professional and considerate manner.
Operate a manual and electric pallet jack and/or tote stacker.
Safely load/unload trailer with totes and pallets and other items as needed.
Load, unload, push and maneuver full and empty bag racks of product.
Lift and empty bags of beverage containers from rack into sorting or compactor equipment.
Stack aluminum bricks onto pallets and strap with banding.
Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers to include receiving and processing of green bags in accordance with established productivity standards.
Safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at BottleDrop.
Escalate repair issues when necessary.
Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers to include receiving and processing of green bags.
Process and record container counts accurately while meeting established productivity standards.
Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
Maintain a clean and well-organized work and loading area.
Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and company policies including, but not limited to, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
Be punctual with attendance.
Other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
Work experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred.
Customer service and/or cash handling experience is preferred.
Experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Possess the ability to work in a physical, fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal employees and BottleDrop customers.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hourly workforce environment where employee schedules, staffing levels, and operational demands frequently change.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
Work indoors and outdoors as needed in various temperatures/conditions.
Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, sharp objects and cleaning products.
Noise levels in designated areas require the use of approved hearing protection.
Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (e.g. wheeled bag racks).
Talking and hearing is frequently required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to stand and walk.
Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
