We are looking for a Shop Helper to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.

What's the challenge?

As the Shop Helper , you play an integral role in performing minor repairs and servicing all equipment, plus assisting technicians in performing repairs as directed by the Service Supervisor. Other responsibilities include ensuring shop tools are properly stored, ensuring that the shop is clean and neat at all times, and maintaining (washing) equipment as required.

- Performing minor repairs and assisting technicians as required

- Install parts as requested by service supervisor

- Clean shop and keep tools organized

Roles and Expecations:

- Ensure all tools are stored correctly - notify service personnel and service writer on damaged or missing equipment immediately, noticing customer damages

- Ensure shop is tidy and garbage cans are emptied daily

- Follow instructions from journeypersons as to procedures for repair methods when assisting technicians or completing minor repairs, and for maintaining/cleaning/washing machines.

- Complete paperwork properly for branch service writer, receives and keeps track of given work orders for equipment being repaired

- Submit time clocking report at the conclusion of each repair segment, or daily if any given repair takes more than 8 hours

- Ensure work orders are given to parts when parts are ordered

- Comply with our “Service First” value by providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

- Advise supervisor of time off requests with sufficient notice and properly report sick days immediately as identified in employee hand book

- Follow proper clock in and out procedure

- Follow all safe work and shop safety polices while performing work in shop and yard

- Proper and timely completion of JSA (Job Safety Analysis)

- General housekeeping in assigned area

What do we expect from you?

Experience Required:

- Good communications skills with peers and supervisors

- Health & Safety Knowledge – OH & S rules and regulations guidelines

Education Required:

- Heavy Duty Technician Foundation Training Year One is an asset
