The Global Operations organization brings manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, facilities, and engineering together to support the delivery of industry-leading semiconductor equipment. Our team partners closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure products are tested efficiently, meet quality expectations, and are successfully launched into high-volume manufacturing.

As a Test Engineer at Lam, you'll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You'll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. What you’ll do

- Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing test methods to verify product functionality and performance.
- Design, deploy, and improve automated test solutions using scripting and software tools.
- Troubleshoot product, process, and test-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and test failures.
- Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations to resolve technical issues and improve product manufacturability.
- Design and support deployment of test fixtures, hardware, and supporting infrastructure.
- Analyze test data and performance metrics to identify opportunities to improve quality, labor efficiency, and cycle time.
- Support new product introductions, pilot builds, and product transitions across Lam's global manufacturing network.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, test coverage, equipment utilization, and operational excellence.
- Provide technical support for production escalations and factory readiness activities.

Who we’re looking for

- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience with test development, validation, or manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and engineering change management.
- Experience analyzing technical data and implementing process improvements.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications

- Experience writing automation scripts using Python or similar programming languages.
- Knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, RF systems, gas delivery systems, instrumentation, or process control systems.
- Experience designing or supporting manufacturing test fixtures and automated test equipment.
