## Summary of Job Duties:
The Financial Aid Administrative Specialist III is responsible for providing comprehensive financial aid counseling and administrative support to students and parents. This position ensures accurate processing, awarding, and maintenance of financial aid records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, with a strong emphasis on daily operations within the Workday Student system.
Highly motivated individual who reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid. This person is self-motivated and able to multi-task in a sometimes fast-paced and challenging environment. Needs to be organized, articulate, and detail oriented. Responsible for counseling, processing and verifying student FAFSA applications according to federal and state regulations. Conducts financial aid workshops, advises students and parents, and assists in FA training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Counsel and assist students and parents with the financial aid application process, eligibility requirements, and funding options.
• Process, review, and verify student financial aid applications and supporting documentation in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
• Award and adjust student financial aid based on approved federal need analysis and fund availability.
• Award, adjust and disburse A2A for concurrent students
• Monitor, manage, and evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for assigned student population (A-L) and determine continued financial aid eligibility each academic term. Handle all SAP Appeals for all students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student financial aid records in Workday, ensuring daily updates and data integrity.
• Coordinate with external agencies (e.g., Department of Human Services, Career Pathway, Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, etc.) to obtain and process required student information.
• Provide high-quality customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
• Assist Financial Aid Analyst with financial aid workshops, recruitment events, orientations, and outreach activities as needed.
• Support student and staff training related to FAFSA completion and Workday Student functionality.
• Manage student files, including organizing, adjusting, and moving files as necessary.
• Order and maintain office supplies to support departmental operations.
• Familiarity with federal Title IV regulations and state financial aid programs
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
## Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably in a financial aid or higher education setting.
- Experience with student information systems and financial aid processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Workday Student or another enterprise-level student information system.
- Prior experience providing financial aid counseling or student services support.
