## Summary of Job Duties:
The Admissions Counselor supports the College's admissions and enrollment process by assisting prospective and newly admitted students from application through completion of admissions requirements and transition to advising and registration. The position is primarily responsible for processing applications and admissions documents, communicating with applicants, monitoring incomplete admissions files, verifying student information and documentation, and providing individualized assistance to help students complete the enrollment process.
The Admissions Counselor also supports College recruitment and outreach efforts by communicating with prospective students, participating in recruitment activities and events, and representing Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas in the community. The position works closely with other Admissions and Records staff and College departments to provide accurate, timely, and student-centered admissions services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Receive, review, and process applications for admission in accordance with College admissions policies and procedures.
• Review student admissions files to determine whether required documentation has been received and admissions requirements have been satisfied.
• Review transcripts, test scores, immunization records, residency information, and other admissions documentation for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity.
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate applicant and student information in the College's student information system.
• Communicate regularly with applicants regarding application status, missing documentation, admissions requirements, and next steps in the enrollment process.
• Monitor assigned applicants and conduct proactive follow-up with students who have incomplete admissions files or have not progressed to the next stage of enrollment.
• Assist prospective and admitted students with completing applications and resolving issues that may delay admission or enrollment.
• Verify student information and documentation using appropriate College and state resources and follow established procedures when information is incomplete, inconsistent, or requires additional verification.
• Maintain appropriate admissions holds and other student record information in accordance with College procedures.
• Assist with the transition of admitted students to academic advising, placement/testing when applicable, financial aid, and registration.
• Respond to admissions inquiries by telephone, email, text messaging, in person, and through other approved College communication methods.
• Provide accurate information regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, placement requirements, registration processes, tuition and fees, financial aid resources, scholarships, and student services.
• Maintain accurate records of applicant communications, admissions activities, and student interactions.
• Assist with application and enrollment communication campaigns designed to move students from application through admission and registration.
• Identify applicants who have not completed admissions requirements or enrolled and assist with outreach and follow-up efforts.
• Assist with reviewing admissions data and reports to identify incomplete applications, outstanding requirements, and students requiring additional follow-up.
• Protect the confidentiality and security of student records and personally identifiable information and comply with FERPA and applicable College policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of College admissions policies, academic programs, enrollment procedures, and relevant state and federal requirements.
• Assist with records-related and admissions projects during peak processing periods and as departmental needs require.
• Participate in selected high school visits, college and career fairs, campus tours, orientation programs, community events, and other recruitment activities.
• Provide presentations and information to prospective students, families, high school personnel, and community partners as needed.
• Assist with registration events, New Student Orientation, and other enrollment activities, including occasional evening or weekend events.
• Provide admissions and enrollment assistance across PCCUA campuses and service areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Admissions and Records operations and the College's enrollment goals.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines during high-volume admissions and registration periods.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Admissions and Records team.
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to effectively use and learn student information systems and other College technology.
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, high school personnel, and members of the public.
• Ability and willingness to participate in occasional travel, evening, and weekend activities.
## Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with detailed information and records.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in college admissions, records, enrollment services, student services, or a related higher education area.
- Experience processing applications, records, or other detailed documentation.
- Experience using a student information system or similar database.
- Experience working directly with prospective or current college students.
- Knowledge of community college admissions and enrollment processes.
- Experience working in WorkDay Student SIS
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position with primary responsibilities performed in an office environment involving frequent interaction with applicants, students, families, College employees, and the public. The position requires extensive computer and student information system use and the ability to manage periods of high-volume application and records processing. Limited travel and occasional evening or weekend work may be required for recruitment, registration, orientation, and other College activities.
