About this role
Reporting to the Training Supervisor, the Clinical Information Systems Principal Trainer-Associate will champion and provide support for the ongoing development and advancement of providers and staff by conducting training of Epic Systems applications and related technologies to further the missions of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
- Knowledge of health information management in a medical/health system setting.
- Knowledge of the principles/theories of adult learning and competency-based education.
- Ability to assist users in developing best practices utilizing proven workflows.
- Ability to conduct training session in the classroom as well as one-on-one learning in a clinical setting.
- Ability to design, build, develop, test, and perform data validation on tools for end users.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask are critical.
- Interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare Information Management or Systems, Health Administration, Arts or Sciences OR an equivalent combination of comparable skills, education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
- One (1) year of Epic or healthcare clinical or healthcare business experience OR an equivalent combination of comparable skills, education, training and/or experience is required.
