Senior DotNET Solutions Architect

Position Overview
The Department is seeking a Solution Architect / Senior .NET Application Architect to lead application modernization, architecture, remediation, and integration efforts associated with the Florida PALM System Transition (FPST) and Office of Comptroller initiatives.
This role serves as the primary technical architect for the Comptroller Automation Platform (CAP) and related financial systems, providing architectural leadership, code quality oversight, modernization guidance, security improvements, and development standards across enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in modern .NET technologies, Azure, application architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and document enterprise application architectures using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Define and implement architectural patterns including: 
• Monolithic
• Modular Monolith
• Microservices
• Event-Driven Architectures
• Develop architecture standards, design guidelines, and reference architectures.
• Lead modernization initiatives involving migration of legacy applications, interfaces, and business processes.
• Analyze existing systems and recommend remediation and modernization strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and design reviews.
• Ensure adherence to:

• Secure Coding Practices
• Support CI/CD implementations and DevOps practices.
• Review application code using SonarQube and other code quality tools.
• Modernize legacy UI technologies including AngularJS and Kendo UI.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and development teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Support Florida PALM integration, remediation, and modernization efforts.
• Produce architecture diagrams, technical roadmaps, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support guidance.
• Support knowledge transfer and mentoring of internal staff.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience across multiple IT disciplines.
• Minimum 2-3 years of Solution Architecture or Application Architecture experience.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft .NET application development and architecture.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Experience leading modernization and migration initiatives.
