Job Title: Junior Graphic Designer / Print Production Specialist Job Description
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer / Print Production Specialist to support label design and print-production needs. You will spend approximately half of your time updating existing product labels and the other half managing label printing and production, working primarily in Adobe Illustrator to execute template-driven artwork updates within established brand guidelines. The position emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and efficiency over original creative concepting, and provides room for long-term growth within the department.
Responsibilities
- Update existing product labels using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring all changes are accurate, consistent, and aligned with established templates and brand guidelines.
- Execute label printing and print-production tasks, following defined processes and documenting work as required.
- Perform frequent edits and revisions to label files based on feedback, regulatory updates, or product changes, and ensure all updates are correctly versioned and saved.
- Enter and maintain accurate data related to label content, product details, and production requirements in the appropriate systems.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with team members in a fast-paced environment, adapting to unexpected changes in priorities or project requirements.
- Work efficiently within existing design templates rather than creating original designs, focusing on precision, speed, and adherence to brand standards.
- Prepare files for print production, checking for errors and ensuring that all technical specifications for printing are met.
- Submit completed weekly work requirements into the designated system for review, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
- Participate in portfolio and work review discussions, using feedback to refine execution and maintain consistency across label and brand updates.
- Demonstrate a commitment to long-term growth within the department by continuously improving skills in label production and related design tools.
Essential Skills
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with the ability to work quickly and accurately within existing label templates.
- Experience performing document-related tasks such as edits, revisions, and careful review of content for accuracy.
- Base understanding of print production processes, or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn label print production.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within a team, especially in a fast-paced environment with unexpected changes.
- High attention to detail and a focus on efficiency over original creativity, with a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.
- Experience with data entry related to design or documentation, ensuring information is correctly captured and maintained.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a flexible schedule environment and consistently meet weekly production and submission requirements.
- Desire for a long-term position and interest in growing within a graphic design and production-focused department.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is beneficial and can be developed further on the job.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is a plus and not required at the outset, with training available if needed.
- Experience working with label or brand updates, particularly in a template-driven environment, is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with working within brand guidelines and established design systems.
- A portfolio that demonstrates experience with label updates, brand maintenance, or similar production-focused design work.
- Comfort working in an environment where efficiency, accuracy, and consistent execution are prioritized over original creative concepting.
- Interest in expanding responsibilities over time into more graphic-exposed opportunities within the department.
- General experience with documentation processes, including tracking edits, revisions, and production changes.
Work Environment
This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility in how you structure your workday as long as weekly requirements are completed and submitted into the system for review on time. You will work primarily with Adobe Illustrator and may also use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign as needed, collaborating with a team that values efficiency, accuracy, and clear communication. The environment is fast-paced with occasional unexpected changes in priorities, and it emphasizes template-driven execution rather than original design creation. There is no specific dress code required beyond what is appropriate for remote, professional interactions such as virtual meetings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
