Executive Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst II Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Business Analyst II to lead the onboarding of forecasting models into a financial forecasting platform built in TM1. The role involves producing documentation for each model build and improvement, and establishing a repeatable model-onboarding framework. As the bridge between finance stakeholders and TM1 engineering, you will translate finance reporting requirements and model logic into technical specifications, coordinate implementation, and own user acceptance testing.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document finance reporting requirements from finance stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications for TM1 implementation.
- Define data requirements and source-data contracts for each model, identifying gaps between finance Excel model requirements and current system capabilities, proposing solutions within TM1 constraints.
- Wireframe and propose UI/UX for forecast adjustments, ensuring users reach only the necessary adjustments with full reporting after updates.
- Partner with TM1 engineering to design, build, test, and deploy finance model updates.
- Define and execute UAT plans, validating that cube changes produce expected, financially-correct outputs before production release.
- Document business rules, calculation logic, and data lineage for onboarded forecasting dimensions.
- Identify gaps in the platform's validation checks and collaborate with TM1, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to close them.
- Trace metric discrepancies across reporting surfaces back to pipeline- or cube-level root causes.
- Own the TM1 engineering ticket queue end to end, prioritizing strategic work against new issues by business priority in partnership with the finance team.
Essential Skills
- 4 to 6 years as a Business or Systems Analyst in finance systems or enterprise planning tools.
- Direct experience translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to assess existing business processes and design improved workflows, including wireframing and UI/UX proposals.
- Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to query relational databases to validate data and trace lineage.
- Experience with UAT planning and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TM1, Planning Analytics, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehouse concepts such as Redshift or Andes.
- Familiarity with FP&A concepts including forecasting, actuals vs. plan variance, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience in media, streaming, or subscription business models.
Work Environment
This position is onsite in Culver City, with a standard 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
