As a Wash Account Management Lead Vice President within Derivative Settlements, you own end-to-end wash account management processing across rates, credit, equity, and commodities products. You lead an approximately seven-person team, drive timely break and exception resolution, and reduce aged and outstanding items through disciplined operating routines and escalation management. You ensure adherence to controls and regulatory requirements while delivering continuous process improvements and strategic initiatives across the settlements operating model.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop an approximately seven-person wash account management team, setting goals aligned to business standards and performance targets.
- Act as the primary escalation point for stakeholders across front office, middle office, and derivatives partners.
- Manage team capacity, coverage, and queue health to reduce aged and outstanding breaks.
- Oversee daily workflow execution, ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and escalation of breaks and exceptions.
- Maintain strong derivatives product and lifecycle knowledge to self-serve investigations and reduce dependency on other teams.
- Ensure compliance with control frameworks and regulatory requirements, reinforcing a strong risk-and-controls culture and high-accuracy standards.
- Drive performance against daily and weekly metrics through reporting, trend review, root-cause analysis, corrective action plans, and workflow and process improvements.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including team management, coaching, performance management, and goal setting.
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills across front office, middle office, and operations, including clear escalation to senior stakeholders.
- Client service mindset with professional, timely, solution-oriented engagement.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple queues, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of operational risk and controls with disciplined adherence to procedures and accuracy standards.
- Derivatives product knowledge and over-the-counter derivatives lifecycle expertise, including exception and break resolution.
- Analytical problem-solving capability with a root-cause approach and focus on preventative actions, with metrics-driven execution against daily and weekly targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced operating environment.
