Lead - Motor & Drivetrain

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Job Purpose

Lead end-to-end Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing operations for an EV 3-Wheeler and 4-Wheeler business, ensuring achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Productivity targets while driving operational excellence, team development, process improvements, capacity enhancement and digital transformation initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations of Motor & Drivetrain production lines and ensure achievement of SQCDP targets.

- Manage, mentor and develop a team of Production Officers and shop-floor personnel, ensuring capability building and succession readiness.

- Drive production planning and execution for Auto Winding, Coil Manufacturing, Connection, VPI, Baking, Motor Assembly, Gearbox Assembly, Differential Assembly and End-of-Line testing processes.

- Ensure process adherence and continuous improvement of manufacturing parameters related to winding quality, motor performance, assembly accuracy, testing reliability and NVH characteristics.

- Lead manpower planning, shift management, resource allocation and capacity planning to support current and future production requirements.

- Own and improve OEE, FPY, throughput, cycle time, productivity, rejection, rework and line efficiency metrics.

- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Line Balancing, Work Study, MOST, VSM, Poka-Yoke, 5S and waste elimination initiatives.

- Lead RCA and CAPA using 8D, PDCA, PFMEA, SPC and MSA methodologies.

- Provide technical leadership for motor manufacturing processes including winding technologies, insulation systems, electrical testing, EOL validation, NVH analysis and drivetrain assembly.

- Drive automation, MES implementation, digitization and Industry 4.0 initiatives to improve traceability and operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain and NPD teams for product launches and engineering changes.

- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, EHS, statutory requirements, customer standards and audit requirements.

- Develop and execute long-term manufacturing strategies focused on scalability, cost optimization, technology adoption and world-class manufacturing practices.
