Technical Support Trainee (m/f/d)

Are you passionate about technology, problem-solving and learning how modern production equipment is maintained and improved? As a Technical Support Trainee at JTI Dagmersellen , you'll gain hands-on experience in our Maintenance & Repair department while working alongside experienced technicians, engineers and maintenance specialists. This program is designed for motivated graduates or students with a technical background who want to develop practical maintenance skills, contribute to equipment reliability, and build a strong foundation for a future career in a manufacturing environment.

During your 12 months with us, you'll become an integral part of our Maintenance & Repair team, supporting daily technical activities and learning how world-class maintenance operations are executed in a highly automated production environment.
From day one, you'll gain practical exposure to troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, technical documentation, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. After a comprehensive onboarding, you'll work closely with mechanics, electronics technicians, maintenance planners and engineers while developing your technical expertise through real-life projects and hands-on assignments.
You'll be mentored by experienced maintenance professionals and supported by a team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Your key responsibilities:
- Support preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities under the guidance of experienced team members
- Collect and document technical information related to breakdowns, repairs, inspections and improvement activities
- Maintain and update maintenance records, work orders, equipment histories and technical data in SAP or other maintenance systems
- Assist in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including maintenance instructions, checklists, drawings, and manuals
- Support root cause analyses by gathering data, measurements, photos, and technical observations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, safety and spare parts optimization
- Support collaboration between Maintenance & Repair, Production, Engineering and Spare Parts teams
Is it a match?
- You have recently completed, or are currently completing, a degree or technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
- You have a strong interest in maintenance processes, industrial equipment and technical problem-solving
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or automation systems is an advantage
- Experience with SAP or other maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus
- You're comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools and technical documentation
- You are organized, detail-oriented and enjoy working in a team
- You have strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Fluent in German and English
