You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

We’re looking for two ambitious and curious undergraduate students to join our Finance team for a 12-month Industrial Placement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable commercial and financial experience while contributing to one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. You’ll gain exposure to a range of Finance specialisms, which could include Risk, Audit, Economic Regulation, Investor Relations and Treasury, giving you a broad understanding of how Finance supports major business decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Finance Industrial Placement Student, you will become part of a dynamic finance function supporting a complex, multi-billion-pound project. You'll work alongside experienced finance professionals, developing practical skills and gaining exposure to a wide range of finance activities.

You will support the team with various activities which could include:

- Financial reporting and analysis

- Budgeting and forecasting processes

- Cost management and expenditure tracking

- Business performance reporting

- Data analysis and financial modelling

- Engagement with our shareholders, government and regulators

- Supporting decision-making through insights and financial information

- Working with stakeholders across the project to understand financial performance and risks

Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the nuclear new build industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.

Finance at SZC isn’t just about finance the directorate covers a wide remit including our treasury function, Investor Relations, risk and assurance, corporate strategy and Economic Regulation. We're interested in students who are eager to learn, enjoy solving problems, and can work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

- Be studying towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics or a related discipline

- Have strong analytical and numerical skills

- Be confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
